The calm water containment boom is meant to control and contain trash and debris in calm water locations. Calm water booms are specifically designed for mild water conditions that have no current flows, waves, or have limited tide activity, such as park ponds, residential lakes, intakes for power plants, and traffic waterways. Calm water booms can also provide floating debris barriers for Parks and Recreation departments, smaller marinas, lake shores and beaches to keep floating garbage from obstructing public boat ramps, swimming and recreational areas.
Calm water barriers feature a shorter freeboard, height and draft. The calm water boom design includes marine grade components and 22 oz. or 24 oz. fabric to stand up to extended use in water. With a top flotation device and a secure bottom ballast chain, the floating boom is design to accommodate locations with no wave actions and no currents. Best used for:
