The Seabin trash collector is a floating trash bin connected to a pump that skims the water's surface, collecting trash, debris, plastics, and even oils. As water passes from the surface, it flows into a catch bag inside of the Seabin. A pump sends water back into the marina while debris and trash is retained in the bag.
The three types of Seabin trash collectors are:
The floating trash bin is attached to floating docks and the mobile and fixed Seabins are attached to fixed docks. These trash skimmers catch 3.9 kilograms of floating debris per day and pump 25 liters of water per hour. Per year, depending on water conditions, the Seabin trash collector can retain 1.4 tons of debris, including micro plastics as small as 2 millimeters. This floating trash bin can even skim the water's surface for oils and pollutants with the addition of an oil absorbent pad, leaving water cleaner as it is pumped back.
A Seabin trash collector will keep municipality waterways clean by filtering out debris and trash. Having a dedicated staff to maintain the Seabin on a daily basis will ensure that your trash skimmer is in top working condition.
